What “freedom of religion” means: In the US, people have the right to subscribe to any faith they choose and participate in any faith’s practices insofar as they do not impinge on others’ rights and freedoms.
What people in the US* think “freedom of religion” means: Anything that goes against my faith’s practices or beliefs should be illegal. Laws governing company-employee and supplier-consumer relationships only apply if the employee/consumer is of my faith.
